Global Warming talk with Bill Bradbury, Ore. Sec. of State

Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury is coming to Sunnyside Methodist Church (SE 35th & Yamhill) to give a presentation on Global Warming's Impacts on Oregon. Secretary of State Bill Bradbury, a member of Oregon's Climate Change Commission, has given over 130 presentations all around Oregon based on Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth slide show and enhanced with many slides on how a warming climate is affecting Oregon. Mr. Bradbury's presentation looks at the science of climate change, the impacts and solutions to this crisis. Some topics include the astonishing effects on Mount Hood and the Rogue River, the Oregon dead zone, timber and agricultural effects and weather oddities. He will end the presentation with a short discussion with his audience.

Calligraphy Class: Learn the art of calligraphy—all levels welcome—with Penelope Culbertson (503.233.7315). Mondays 6pm – 7pm.

Basic book binding: Create your own hand bound journal to use as a sketchbook, photo album, or to record your thoughts. All materials included.
Wednesday, September 10th: 11am – 2pm.

Basic Drawing: For all you artists out there who have never taken a drawing class, or just need to brush up.
Bring a large sketchpad, several weights of pencils, a kneaded eraser, and some charcoal. All other materials provided.
